I want to save a bit of warmth of summer.
Place it in my pocket
For safekeeping.
So, when the harsh winter winds come calling, I can savor
The warm gentleness of a summer caress.

I want to save a bit of summer freedom.
Carefree days
Running in the lush, green yard with my kids.
So, if snow fills the hard, brown yard
We will celebrate with snow angels and hot chocolates.

I want to stop time, not forever, just today.
Time races on
As summer is simply one cycle of life—an inevitable truth we can’t escape.
So, whether it’s a kaleidoscope of rainbows or an incoming storm,
We have a choice: to bend or break.

Prayer: Gracious God, as I traverse the various seasons of my life, I seek Your wisdom to understand and navigate each phase. Life brings a myriad of seasons – times of joy and sorrow, growth and stillness, challenge and ease. In every season, I desire to comprehend Your purpose and plan. Grant me the insight to discern what each season is teaching me and how I can align myself with Your divine will.

Teach me to embrace each season, understanding that there is a time for everything under heaven. Help me to be patient in times of waiting, resilient in times of hardship, and humble in times of abundance.

May I grow in wisdom and maturity as I experience the full spectrum of life’s seasons, trusting that You are with me through them all.
