Icon Pictures

My visits to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church
Father Jarrod taught two classes about iconography associated with this church.
My personal favorite icon of the Trinity.
Mary presenting her son Jesus for the world. This is a holy space for communion.
Icon of Jesus
Emperor/St. Constantine and St. Helen
A beautiful church to visit. I learned much about iconography from these classes.
Moses as a mediator between God and the people. Depictions of the burning bush, getting the Ten Commandments and crossing the sea.
The Nativity depiction of Jesus’ humble birth
Jesus’ Baptism
In the Greek Orthodox Church, a depiction of Jesus on the cross is serene. Jesus is sleeping in death. They focus more on his victory over death rather than his suffering on the cross. They acknowledge the suffering, but usually steer away depicting Jesus’ anguish in icon form.
Jesus’ Ascension and defeat over death.
The Greek Festival in Nashville, TN is scheduled for September 27-29, 2024.
The church does give tours of their facility.

I love this! The church is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing. My husband is Coptic. Apparently there is a new Coptic church close to Kasey. You should check it out for their icons. Blessings, Donna Mikhail
